The Abiding Life-Part 9

September 29

God cannot be in the presence of sin. When Adam and Eve sinned in the garden, what did God do? He killed an animal and He clothed them. Blood had to be shed to cover the sin of Adam and Eve.

John the Baptist said, “Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.”

Blood had to be shed before our sins could be taken away.

Jesus died on the cross shedding His blood for you and me so that we could look to the cross and realize that we are a sinner in need of a Savior and put our trust where God has put our sin on Jesus.

When we do this we are born again, we are born from above. We are taken out of Satan’s kingdom and we are placed in Christ’ kingdom. We are taken out of Adam and we are placed in Christ. Do you realize that when you live your life resting in this, “I’m in Christ and He’s in me,” you begin to experience a heavenly life on earth? It is the Spirit-filled life. When you begin to walk in this truth it satisfies you to the core of your being. You see, instead of doing things trying to be who you are in Christ, you begin to simply be a person who rests in all that Christ has already done and given for you at the cross. I am going to be who I am in Christ Jesus. This is the abiding life. This is the presence of God in your life and mine. This is what it means to abide above.
