The Abiding Life-Part 7

September 27

If you are not careful in the Christian life and you do not understand what it means to abide in Him, to live a surrendered life and to see yourself the way God sees you it can affect you in every area of your life. It will affect whether or not you feel accepted by God. As a child of God you are already accepted in Christ.

Sometimes, in our emotional make-up, because we do not know this truth, we live our lives trying to get God to accept us, not knowing that we are already accepted. Our acceptance is not by our church service, how much we give or how hard we try to be what God wants us to be. You see we have everything turned around backwards because we are already accepted before God, because we are no longer in Adam, we are in Christ Jesus, and not only that, He’s in us by the Holy Spirit.

My friend, to live a wonderful Spirit-filled life on earth, happy and joyful in Jesus with peacefulness and patience, we must desire to be what God would have us to be. It is not imitation, my friend, it is simply getting out of the way and letting Him who is within us live through us. We are to walk with this in your mind, I am in Christ and Christ is in me. So if someone rejects you or snubs you and it hurts emotionally, let that be your reminder that you are in Christ and Christ is in you.
